unexpectedThings you never think you'd see... I'm driving to the Denver Art Museum today, going to see the Dutch exhibition, and while I'm maneuvering through the traffic in Cherry Creek, I notice a green SUV swerving through the sea of cars. The driver is yakking on a cell phone and blathering to her passenger in the front seat. She's oblivious to all other activity going on around her. By my count, she almost causes three separate accidents. There's an aging white Honda behind her. The driver of this vehicle takes exception to the green SUV lady's driving. There's honking and yelling and even some middle-finger gesturing. Justified, I think to myself - the SUV swerved right into the lane in front of the Honda, cutting it off and only narrowly avoiding a collision due to the white car's driver's skill. That's when I take a second look. The Honda's driver looks much too familiar - I look again to be sure. It's my doctor! Doofus in the green SUV almost hit my doctor! Once we're both clear of the SUV, I honk and get her attention. At first, she doesn't recognize me, then after a minute, she does. She smiles and waves back. We proceed up Speer past University - she's a surprisingly aggressive driver, and she soon disappears in front of the pack of cars. I know she's wondering if I saw her ladylike gestures towards the idiot in the green SUV. I guess if she ever reads this post, she'll know. That would be a yes! :) |
