1996 - 2003, Hitachi 21" monitor. You served bravely until your display turned green and you gave up the ghost. Well, the image anyway.

I took a look at the newest versions of Sony laptops; they're so different from mine. They have DVD drives and the PictureBook even has a CD burner. They're much bigger than they used to be. I told one of the gentlemen there that my laptop gets ~ 6 (sometimes more) hours battery time. More than enough to get me through a class session without having to be near an outlet. Judging by his expression, I don't think you can get that kind of battery time on these new ones. On the other hand, the keyboards are much bigger, and they've kind of gotten away from that "legacy-free" concept. I'd still like to have the option of going legacy free in the smaller models, since I have a home network. But I was impressed by everything they were able to fit in such a small space!
