amd geode

AMD Geode Developer Support Site. This site was designed as a self-help support site for engineers designing solutions using the Geode line of processors and platforms. It is on Windows 2000 server, with Lotus Notes as the web platform.
Processors section. Chose to develop a tabbed navigational structure for sections as opposed to the standard AMD multi-level row-and-highlight structure, which is confusing and busy. Arranged information by product. Implemented OpinionLabs Rate-This-Page functionality within top navigation bar and in footer of page.
GX2 processor page. Each page had information subdivided by category, cross-linked to the appropriate companion device, and cross-referenced to the correct System Design page. In order to track site usage as well as specific page and document usage, implemented the IBM SurfAID product site wide. This was completely incorporated into every section of the site.
CS5535 companion device page. Cross-referenced to processor and system design pages.
System Platforms section. Unlike main AMD site, controlled all style information through CSS. This wasn't just font sizes, but things like table formatting, color schemes, and link behavior. Instead of manually applying styles, you'd simply assign a feature to a particular class. This was important in keeping the site synched with the main AMD site; they would make style changes and publish them with Vignette; I would have to be able to make stylistic changes in one place without having the ability to republish on a whim...
SP4GX22 system platform page. Cross-linked to the appropriate processor, companion device, and system design pages. Also included links to the archived products on the system platform menu, so that if you weren't a frequent visitor to the site, you would still be able to find the product for which you needed support.
Continuation of the SP4GX22 system platform page.
System Platform overall documentation page.
Software section. Integrated Lotus Notes scripting with HTML-based navigation and standard pages. Part of the section displayed software dynamically and part from standard file containers.
Example of dynamic lists in software section.
Example of specific package in software section.
Scrolled down to end of page in previous example.
System design section. This section contained the reference schematics and design layout recommendations for each product in the Geode line. The concept was to provide a quick and easy way for designers and engineers to get the documentation they would need to build solutions quickly from Geode products.
GX2/CS5535 System Design page.
System design page for the PNX 1300 etc. product line supporting multimedia.
Archives section. This was for old or obsoleted products; no further support was available, but at least the old reference material was still posted.
CS9211 Device page. Shows documentation, application notes etc. for product.
SP1SC22 card support page. Usually, the archived pages were not tied back to the current product pages, but this one is an exception because it is related to the multimedia product line. This was to avoid confusion in navigation.
