This is a memorial site for my
best friend, George. He was a noted community activist and small
business owner. As with doubleangel.org, or churchpoodle.com, I often
have an emotional attachment to the content behind the code. This site
uses frames (the last one I did with frames) and plain HTML. It's one of
my earlier sites, but still my favorite. |
 |
The site details many aspects
of George's life, including his military service. I wanted to provide an
easy-to-use and coherent navigational structure, yet retain the ability
to do something special with the content of each section. In this page,
a low-key, yet appropriate patterned background is used. It does not
interfere with the text, and conveys a certain message. Graphics cost
bandwidth, so they should only be used when necessary. In this case,
they help tell the story more effectively. |
 |
I hoped to capture crucial
aspects of George's personality and life; difficult to do with HTML, but
I think a lot of George shines through these pages. |
